JWM Group Director James Wilcher has always strived to improve both business and health and safety performance throughout his career. With over 30 years working in mining and heavy industry, James’ passion for workplace health and safety was triggered by the personal loss of a good mate in a workplace accident in 2001 and is now driven to encourage companies and their workers to improve their workplace HST compliance, ensuring unwanted events are mitigated so workers go home to their loved ones after a day at work. Unfortunately, James witnessed firsthand the everlasting impacts on his mate’s family and friends’ lives and now shares these lessons to further educate and encourage companies and their duty holders to employ a preventative mindset rather than the mandatory “reactive approach” after an unwanted event has occurred.

JWM Group was initially developed in 2021 when a niche was identified to offer a high-end service to the mining sector for both short- and long-term coverage solutions of statutory roles for mine operators after the introduction of the NSW Practising Certificate scheme in 2019. Our experience and qualifications have also supported our success outside of the mining industry. Our company logo was designed to represent stability, with a key mission of providing only “quality industry professionals” who are profiled to match our client’s site and culture rather than promoting a volume-driven service, ensuring our reputation and level of service are maintained. James’ purpose every day at work is to satisfy our clients beyond their expectations and to influence and encourage behaviours for a stronger safety culture in honour of his mate who tragically was killed at work 24 years ago.
